World in Motion have acquired rugby agency Phoenix Sports Management in a deal that will see the former industry leading firm become a major force once again within rugby in the northern hemisphere. World in Motion have acted on behalf of the likes of Brian O’Driscoll, Tom Croft, Leigh Halfpenny, Courtney Lawes, Dean Richards, Geordan Murphy, Ashton Hewitt, Dan Biggar, Warren Gatland and many more. With the acquisition, World in Motion plans to attract some of the world’s top players and coaches and build on Phoenix’s already strong presence in the rugby market.
World in Motion was established in 1997 by chairman Andy Evans and now runs offices out of London, Cardiff, throughout Europe and North and South America. World in Motion CEO Charles Mountifield has a strong background in rugby, having represented many international players and coaches and who was the first Chairman of the Association of Rugby Agents. There is an in- house statistics department as well as a strong commercial offering as part of the company’s multi-sport agency that includes a client base spanning football, cricket, boxing, golf and rugby. Commenting on the deal, Andy Evans said ‘We have had a long-standing relationship with Phoenix and are delighted to be able to formalise our relationship and build the World in Motion brand with the acquisition of a reputable and successful business.’
