DOUBLE DELIGHT FOR HAZEL

World in Motion is delighted to announce two significant sponsorship deals for our client, Ladies European Tour golfer, Hazel MacGarvie.

Hazel will wear the logos of ‘Route Media’ and ‘The Fox’ on her apparel for the 2022 LET season and beyond.

‘Route Media’ are one of the most exciting outdoor media campaign specialists in the UK, utilising a range of products including digital roadside advertising, airport media and digital vans and bikes, to guarantee a comprehensive, co-ordinated media campaign for clients.

‘The Fox’ is one of the jewels in the crown of the Buzzworks Holdings chain of bars and restaurants in Scotland. The pub’s name pays homage to the tricky 12th hole at Royal Troon Golf Course – and sits a long Par 5 away from the famous clubhouse at Hazel’s home course.

Hazel, 22, secured her debut card on the Ladies European Tour at Qualifying School in La Manga back in December and is enjoying a 2022 campaign full of opportunities and experiences on the tour.

The former Scottish Girls’ Champion enjoyed a distinguished amateur career included victory in the St Rule Trophy at St Andrews in 2020.

A graduate of Sterling University, Hazel made a strong start to her pro career, finishing tied for 27th spot at the $1m Aramco Saudi Ladies International.

Rhys Harrington, Managing Director of Route Media said: “Route Media are delighted to be sponsoring an elite golfing talent such as Hazel in her debut LET season and beyond. We’re excited to support Hazel as she grows and progresses as a professional golfer, and look forward to what this partnership will bring in the coming months and years.”

Kenny Blair, Managing Director at Buzzworks Holdings, said: “Being an active member of the communities in which we operate is important to us here at Buzzworks. We have a long tradition of our venues supporting local good causes where we can, through a variety of initiatives, and we are proud to now sponsor top local Scottish golfing talent, Hazel McGarvie.

“With our newest venture in Troon, The Fox, taking its name from the tricky 12th hole at Royal Troon, and the golf course being Hazel’s hometown club, it’s fitting for the venue to help play a part in Hazel’s journey as a professional golfer. Everyone at The Fox and Buzzworks look forward to seeing Hazel’s career flourish on the pro-golf circuit in years to come.”

Joe Simmonds MBE

2020 was a year to remember for Exeter Chiefs star Joe Simmonds. Joe became the youngest player to captain a side to victory in both the Heineken Champions Cup and the Premiership, as Exeter overcame Racing 92 and Wasps to become only the fourth English side to win the double.

The accolades did not keep coming as his incredible year was capped off in style, as he received an MBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List.

Joe and his Exeter side will be hoping to repeat the feat and retain their titles in 2021.

Congratulations, Joe!

Sam Simmonds wins European Player of the Year

Exeter and England number 8 Sam Simmonds has been rewarded for his outstanding performances in this year’s Champions Cup by winning the prestigious Player of the Year award. Despite being a forward, the 25-year-old is the top try-scorer in the competition, scoring eight in eight appearances, including crucial doubles against La Rochelle and Sale Sharks in Rounds 6 and 4 respectively, plus one in the semi-final success against Toulouse, and of course one in the all-important final vs Racing.

An incredible achievement for Sam that we are all very proud of here at World in Motion!
