Archive: On this day in 2007 Craig Gordon broke British transfer record for a goalkeeper

On 8th August 2007, Sunderland signed World in Motion/GK1 client Craig Gordon from Heart of Midlothian.

Gordon was sold for a fee of £9m, breaking the British transfer record for a goalkeeper and making the Scotland international the 3rd most expensive goalkeeper in the world at the time.

In 2017/18 the 35-year old goalkeeper won Double-Treble with Celtic, having already won the Premiership and League Cup earlier in the season.
