Sam Simmonds wins European Player of the Year

Exeter and England number 8 Sam Simmonds has been rewarded for his outstanding performances in this year’s Champions Cup by winning the prestigious Player of the Year award. Despite being a forward, the 25-year-old is the top try-scorer in the competition, scoring eight in eight appearances, including crucial doubles against La Rochelle and Sale Sharks in Rounds 6 and 4 respectively, plus one in the semi-final success against Toulouse, and of course one in the all-important final vs Racing.

The England international has also won two Heineken Star of the Match awards, against Sale and Toulouse, and is fourth in the list of leading carriers with his tally of 92.

An incredible achievement for Sam that we are all very proud of here at World in Motion!
