Jimmy Heads For Fulham

Fulham have agreed a £2.5million deal to sign highly-rated midfielder Jimmy Bullard from Wigan Athletic from under the noses of a host of Premiership clubs. The 27-year-old has settled on a four-year deal with the Cottagers and will complete the move when the transfer window opens on May 8. Bullard has enjoyed an outstanding first campaign in the top flight during which time he broke the club record of 125 consecutive starts. Latics boss Paul Jewell did not want to lose him, but Fulham’s offer triggered a release clause in his contract.
Bullard joined the Latics from Peterborough United in January 2003 and went on to score 10 times in 145 league matches for the club, helping them to climb from the third tier to the top-flight of English football.
